Created as part of the #RocklerTryThatChallenge, this project was an exploration in blending fine art with functional design. What began as discarded chairs destined for the landfill was reimagined into bold, one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrates both craftsmanship and creativity.
The design incorporates a framed painting directly into the chair’s back, transforming a familiar object into a canvas for expression. Vibrant, unconventional colors replace neutral tones, inviting a playful rethinking of what furniture can be. Re-built using repurposed 2x4s and oak flooring, the piece embodies sustainability while proving that functional objects can also stand as works of art.
